July 21-Batanga

Everyone loves a good rum and coke and everyone loves tequila, this cocktail combines the 2. The batanga also adds a splash of lime and salt to accentuate the roasted agave flavour of the tequila. I would highly recommend using a reposado in this drink. I know that the recipe says blanco, but imagine those barrel notes combined with the lime, salt and coke. It would be like a mexican jack and coke.

I really don’t have a whole lot to say about this cocktail aside from that so let’s talk about the creation details.,This cocktail was created by Don Javier Delgado Corona at his bar La Capilla in Tequila Mexico around 1961.Being from where all tequila is made inside Mexico, you know he is pulling out the good stuff.
